caller id displays the caller's phone number (for all unblocked numbers) on your phone. it may also show the name of the person if it's already been stored in your phone's memory. caller id is included with all plans.

other enhanced caller id services display the name, picture, city or state for incoming and / or outgoing calls

What is caller ID blocking

caller id blocking blocks your number from being displayed through caller id either permanently or temporarily. it's a free service.

note: you can't block your number from appearing when calling certain numbers, such as 800 numbers and 911.

How do I block Caller ID

you have the option to block caller id either temporarily or permanently.

to block your number from being displayed temporarily for a specific call:

dial *67.

enter the number you wish to call (including area code).

tap the call button. the words "private," "anonymous," or some other indicators will appear on the recipient's phone instead of your mobile number.

you've successfully blocked caller id for a specific call.

note: calls to 800 numbers and 911 can't be caller id-blocked.

Other ways

You can request that your phone number is blocked from appearing on outgoing calls either permanently or on a per call basis. Please note, you cannot block your number on outgoing SMS / MMS messages.

PER CALL

• To hide your number when calling from a Mobile Phone, dial 1831 before the phone number you want to call
• To hide your number when calling from a Fixed Line Phone, dial 1831 or *31 before the phone number you want to call

Sometimes There’s A Genuine Need To Call Someone And Prevent Your Phone Number From Being Displayed. Perhaps You’ve Received A Call From A Number You Don’t Recognise, And You Want To Call Back To Check Who It Is Without Revealing Your Number. You Can Do This On Both Your Home Phone And Mobile Phone.
